Man with shotgun arrested outside Safeway

Posted on August 17, 2016 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Early Wednesday morning, 49 year old Salvador Calvillo-Perez of El Verano was arrested by police at Sonoma’s Safeway on three felony charges.

Sonoma County deputies were called to the Safeway parking lot around 4 am regarding a truck that had been idling in the parking lot for two hours.

Upon their arrival, deputies found Calvillo-Perez sitting in the running truck with a shotgun in hand.

Calvillo-Perez did not want to put the shotgun down and when deputies tried to pull him out of the car, he tightened his grip on the gun and refused to let go.

Three deputies wrestled with Calvillo-Perez and used a stun gun on him after believing he had a second weapon.

He was handcuffed and taken to Sonoma County jail where he is being held with $10,000 bail.

According to Sgt. Spencer Crum, the shotgun was stolen and had six rounds at the ready.
