Sonoma Little League sees first-ever undefeated season

The Falcons finished off an unprecedented season, rattling off 21 straight wins for a perfect 21-0 season and posting the first ever Sonoma Little League undefeated season en route to capturing the 2017 Majors Division regular-season championship.

The Falcons were led offensively by Jaden Vides who led the league with 15 HRs and Brett Armitage who hit 7 of his own HRs while hitting over .600 on the season. 12 Yr olds Jacob Schepp & Dom Pucci rounded out the veteran pitching staff that dominated the league all season long.

The undefeated Falcons also benefitted from contributions up and down the lineup compromising of Vinny Girish, Oisin Heffernan, Spencer Jacobs, Grant Kiser, Eli Lawrence, Cody Morton, Lincoln Reiter and Thomas Walsh, The Falcons are directed by Manager Johnny Armitage, Coaches Jim Vides and Zach Lawrence and are sponsored by Mary’s Pizza. The Falcons were followed in the final standings by the Angels (15-6), Bears (13-8), Mustangs (10-11), Cardinals (9-12), Tigers (8-13), Red Sox (5-16) and Blue Jays (3-18).

Claiming the Sonoma Little League AAA Minors Division regular-season title were the White Sox with a 15-3-3 record. The White Sox were followed in the final standings by the Indians (14-4-3), Rangers (14-6-1), Orioles (12-7-2), Royals (10-8-3), Astros (6-14-1), Yankees (3-16-2) and Mariners (2-18-1). The SLL AAA regular-season champion White Sox were Manager Mario Alioto and assistant coaches Sean Riebli and Ricardo Reyes, with players Mario Alioto, Arlin Bonbright, Johnny Campbell, Nicholas Cope, Jaden Dudy, Koen Flocco, Joaquin Garrison, Amos Geist, Kymani Jackson-James, Max Retterer, Benicio Reyes and Donovan Riebli.

Currently, Sonoma Little League is holding the Sonoma City postseason tournaments for both the Majors and AAA Minors, with all teams in both divisions competing at Hughes, Paul’s and Teeter fields. The winners of the City tournament will represent Sonoma Little League in the upcoming District 53 Tournament of Champions.
