Táta Vega, one of the legendary back-up singers profiled in the award-winning documentary “Twenty Feet From Stardom,” takes the solo spotlight Saturday, June 17 for the Sonoma Jazz Society.

Vega’s voice was featured in “The Color Purple,” and other movie soundtracks including “The Lion King” and “Amistad.” The show is the first of the ‘Jazz in the Barn’ series of intimate club-like gigs in a private barn on Sonoma’s Carriger Road, with “ice, no host bar, small nibbles and wine glasses.”
