In the 1967 thriller  “Wait Until Dark,” Audrey Hepburn – nominated for an Oscar for the role — plays a blind women terrorized by a trio of conniving thugs.

Alan Arkin is the chief heavy as his crew search for a heroin-stuffed doll they think is hidden in her apartment. The tension, complete with scream-inducing surprises, builds as the ever-scrappy Hepburn tries to outwit the thieves within her cramped Manhattan apartment. The soundtrack is by Henry Mancini.
