Food writer Georgeanne Brennan comes to Readers’ Books on Wednesday evening, July 20 to chat about her latest book, “La Vie Rustic -Cooking and Living in the French Style.”
The new book is divided into the elements that come together to create the foods of France – The Potager, The Barnyard, The Forest and Field and The Water. There are over 100 recipes, Brennan says, and nearly as many photos, stories and short essays on topics such as the transhumance, truffle wars, and rendering fat. There even bits about hunting snails, how to eat a sea urchin, cultivating blossoms and starting a potager garden.
The 7 p.m. event is free. 130 E. Napa St. 939.1779. Readersbooks.com.
