The teens are finalists for a scholarship program, launched by Sonoma’s HWY 12 Properties (H12P), for college-bound Future Farmers of America members.

The students recently participated in a one-day field trip to visit the farms and affiliated businesses of the H12P FFA Scholarship Advisory Board: Rich Andreotti of Circle JR Ranch; Sondra Bernstein, the girl & the fig; Andrew Mariani, SCRIBE Winery; Sam Mogannam, Bi-Rite; Mike Zakowski, Mike the Bejkr; and Davis.

Essays about the experience will be part of the judging criteria. A total of $3,000 in scholarships will be awarded — one for $2,000, a second for $1,000 — to two FFA students who plan to pursue a college degree in agriculture beginning this Fall.

Winners of the H12P FFA Scholarships will be announced the end of April and awarded on May 19 during Scholarship Awards Day at Sonoma Valley High School.
