A long awaited new roller coaster – Mine Train – has finally opened at Sonoma’s beloved TrainTown Railroad.

It replaces the old Dragon Train coaster.

The coaster was built by the legendary E&F Miler Industries, a family owned roller coaster manufacturing company from Oregon. E&F is best known for building the legendary roller coaster at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

The new kiddie coaster is the largest ever built by the company. Both children and parents alike can enjoy the coaster together.

TrainTown has been a staple in the lives of children growing up in Sonoma Valley since its opening in 1968. 20264 Broadway, Sonoma; 938-3912; traintown.com

  1. What is the new roller coaster called? Is this in addition to the dragon roller coaster they already have or did it replace the dragon roller coaster? More detail please!! 🙂

    1. Jamie,
I think they’re open longer hours now, grab your kiddo and check it out if you live somewhat close.
      Have fun there!

  2. It’s called the Mine Train, replacing the old Dragon Train. 33″ minimum with an adult, 36″ to ride alone!

  3. I grew up at train town…..there every weekend…even helped build and work on some of the trains as a kid….used to run all over the property…..had to hide when the train went by…..good times
