Panel discussion: What you need to know about strokes

Strokes are the fifth leading cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability, according to the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. Vintage House, in partnership with Sonoma Valley Hospital, will hold a panel discussion on July 18 on recognizing stroke symptoms and what to do in the event of a stroke.

The panel will also address audience questions about emergency care.

Participating experts are: Jasper Schmidt, MD, SVH Medical Director of Emergency Medicine; Danielle Jones, BSN, RN, HACP, SVH Director of Quality and Risk Management; and Maryanne Mahoney, RN, SVH Stroke Coordinator.  

The talk is free and open to the community. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Room 105 at Vintage House, 264 1st Street East. 

The panel will be offered again on Thursday, August 8. Vintage House is located at 264 1st Street East.
