Teens add spice to recipe for success

Posted on July 23, 2019 by Sonoma Valley Sun

With Karen Moya and Evelyn Martinez on the Lovin’ Oven team, Teen Services Sonoma has cooked up a product line of Southeast Asian sauces. The recipes were developed by Chef-Instructor Mei Ibach, who hails from a fishing village outside of Singapore and now share her extensive knowledge of that distinctive regional cuisine with aspiring young chefs.

The entrepreneurial endeavor, which debuted at the Springs Farmers Market, features red or green Thai curry sauce, Malaysian peanut sauce, and Indian chutney.

The Lovin’ Oven is one of Teen Services Sonoma’s social enterprises that provides on-the-job training for teens who graduated from the TSS Ready to Work program to prepare them for future work in the hospitality and food service industry.
