Gary Edwards celebrated as 2019 Muse

Posted on July 29, 2019 by Sonoma Valley Sun

With its annual Muse gala, the Sonoma Community Center honors Gary Edwards for “his amazing contributions to the Center’s creative programs as well as his many years of inspired community service throughout the Sonoma Valley and beyond.”

Edwards, a former City councilmember, is also active with Sonoma Valley Rotary and many other local causes. Says John Gurney, SCC executive director, “he provides the inspiration we all need to do our best.”

About the honor, Edwards told The Sun, “I have a deep love of the Community Center as it has over the years given the community a place to store the ‘Heart of the Sonoma Valley.’ There’s truly something for everybody.”
For over 15 years, Gurney says, Edwards “has wrangled donations, organized fellow chefs, and cooked turkeys for the Center’s free Thanksgiving Dinner, one of the innumerable ways that Gary exemplifies the civic-minded nature he is so well known for.”

The celebration is Saturday, August 10. Cocktails, wine and hors d’oeuvres, BBQ buffet and more. 5 p.m. $225.
