‘Back to School Health Fair’ on August 10

A great start to the school year starts with healthy kids, and the 5th annual Back to School Health Fair on Saturday, August 10, at Altamira Middle School.

The free event, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. is presented by Sonoma Valley Community Health Center in partnership with Sonoma Valley Unified School District, Sonoma Valley Hospital, Sonoma Sheriff’s Office,  FISH, La Luz Center, The Club at Maxwell, 4C’s of Sonoma County, Valley of the Moon Lions Club, SV-SEAC, and Sonoma Parent University.

There will be a variety of health services and activities during the day including; school supplies giveaway, Fun Zone, free food, health education and healthy snacks, fluoride treatments, TDAP vaccines, and posture screenings.

Valley of the Moon Lion’s Club will provide free vision screenings to interested participants.

The event is bilingual and is open to all Sonoma Valley students. Attendance and completion of the Back to School Health Fair passport are required in order to receive a free backpack.

The TDAP vaccine will be for those entering 7th grade. No appointments are necessary. A parent must be present to sign the consent forms for all screenings and vaccines.

The school supply drive continues through August 5, 2019. School supplies donations can be dropped off at: Sonoma Valley Community Health Center, Sonoma Staples, Sonoma AAA, North Bay Credit Union or Palms Grill. Or donate here.
