A message from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office sent at 2:25 p.m. today, 10/8:

PG&E is shutting off power through much of Sonoma County starting at midnight tonight. Power will be shut off in all or portions of Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Petaluma, Healdsburg, Cloverdale, Glen Ellen, Penngrove, Geyserville, Kenwood, Rohnert Park, Windsor, Annapolis, Stewarts Point, Cotati, Larkfield, El Verano, Boyes Hot Springs and Fulton.

PG&E expects to start turning power back on starting on Thursday afternoon, but it could take up to five days for some people to have power again.

The Sheriff’s Office is always ready for emergencies.  Our primary concern is public safety.  We will be patrolling neighborhoods and staying visible.  Please be aware of your surroundings and follow these tips:

  • Don’t call dispatch for information.  Leave those lines open for urgent matters.
  • Call 911 if you see a crime happening, see suspicious activity, or have a life-threatening emergency
  • Call 2-1-1 if you need services.
  • Call 1-800-743-5002 for PG&E power outage information.

Take care of each other and check the Sheriff’s Office Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds for updates.
