Local chat with cannabis industry ‘power broker’

Posted on November 6, 2019 by Sonoma Valley Sun
A top cannabis lobbyist and expert, to the point of earning the nickname ‘Pot Girl’ in Sacramento, joins the Sonoma Valley Cannabis Enthusiasts in conversation on Tuesday, November 12, at 3pm.

Amy Jenkins, formerly of Platinum Advisors, founded her own firm, Precision Advocacy Group, in September 2018.

“I’ve spent the last few years building my lobbying business, but now hope to spend more time in Sonoma, and contribute my community,” Jenkins said. “Given my expertise in cannabis policy, I thought this might be a good place to start.”

The lobbying firm serves local government and private sector clients including Orange and San Bernardino counties, the California Cannabis Industry Association, Bloom Farms, CannaCraft, the International Cannabis Farmers Association, SPARC, and Terra Tech.

Jenkins brings over 20 years of experience in legislative, public affairs, and political campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels. Prior to becoming a lobbyist, Jenkins served as Chief of Staff to State Senator Lou Correa, Legislative and Public Affairs Officer for Solano County, and the Director of the League of California Cities’ Grassroots Program.

Jenkins was included in Capitol Weekly’s top 100 power brokers in California in 2018 and 2019 for helping to lead the charge for California’s cannabis industry, and was nicknamed “Pot Girl” in an April 2017 profile by the Sacramento Bee.

Her Precision Advocacy Group, founded in 2018, is a Sacramento-based lobbying firm serves local government and private sector clients including Orange and San Bernardino counties, the California Cannabis Industry Association, Bloom Farms, CannaCraft, the International Cannabis Farmers Association, SPARC, and Terra Tech.

The November 12 event, a conversation with moderator Gretchen Giles, is free and open to the public.  The HopMonk Tavern Sonoma is located at 691 Broadway.

  1. Ah, what the world has been waiting for; a pot lobbyist. Similar to a fish without a bicycle. Everyone I know has been doing this “work” since 1965.
