Support for Britta Johnson

Posted on October 17, 2020 by Sonoma Valley Sun

I have known Britta Johnson since 2000 and had the pleasure of working closely with her during my ten plus years as a Prestwood parent. I served on Prestwood’s SITE Council with her, and we co-chaired the Prestwood Jog-a-thon and Prestwood Direct fundraising events. I have always been impressed with her attention to detail, fiscal acumen, and professionalism. She is a leader, thoughtful, and dedicated to our students, teachers, administration, and community.

Britta continues to be a leader advocating for our students and public schools. She is committed to our students’ achievements and implementing policies that will ensure success for all students. She is meticulous and transparent. She is fiscally responsible, even when it is not fashionable. In the past two years there have been enormous reforms to the SVUSD budget thanks to Britta and the board. She helped spearhead budget reform in order to ensure short- & long-term solvency.

Britta has helped implement improved financial transparency and accountability. In our current climate, stability on the board is essential to ensure a fiscally sound budget and to best serve all the students in our community. SVUSD needs Britta as a Trustee to continue building a strong foundation for our district. She will never rubber stamp something before she does her due diligence and will have the data to back her decisions. She collaborates well with others and is respectful of the other Trustees and the superintendent. Britta is an extraordinary Trustee who has served our kids for the past 5 years.

Our school district cannot afford to lose someone as dedicated and committed as Britta Johnson. She has my vote!
