The event staffers behind the annual nonprofit galas and fancy fundraisers have become, over a year of Covid restrictions, adept TV producers and directors. Pets Lifeline’s upcoming Tailwags & Handbags is a prime example. What used to be an in-person luncheon and fashion show is now, for the second time, a streaming broadcast.

The virtual event begins at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 30. Broadcasting live from the new facility on the grounds of its old Eighth Street East site, PLL Executive Director Nancy King will emcee and lead a first-look virtual tour of the soon-to-open Animal Resource Center.

Within the live show will be segments pre-recorded in locations throughout the Valley, ‘fashion shoots’ showcasing the gently-used and new purses, murses (yes, the man purse), scarves, jewelry and assorted items. The auction, which begins April 26, also includes clothes by local boutiques and shops.

“This show will be great fun,” King said. “We have amazing models from within the community, who have donated their time and talent. I don’t want to give anything away, but I can assure you there will be lots of tail wagging and even some hat tossing.”

There is no cost to register to bid on the items. Tickets are still available for lunch from girl and the fig, with home delivery. For more information and to register for the auction, go to www.petslifeline.org.
