Sonoma Valley Catalyst Fund makes $100,000 available for nonprofit Covid response

Posted on July 12, 2021 by Sonoma Valley Sun

The Sonoma Valley Catalyst Fund has created a new open grant program to aid in the recovery of Sonoma Valley nonprofits that are restructuring their services due to the pandemic crisis.

Catalyst is a temporary philanthropic fund that aims to improve our community’s collective response to the Covid-19 crisis. The fund has so far initiated nearly $800,000 in grants to fill the gaps left by other funding and actions, including support of vaccination, food security, youth mental health, financial support of businesses and individuals, and much more.

Only 501c3s organizations are eligible to apply.

This new $100,000 grant program will provide flexible funding for local organizations to support their recovery needs via individual grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000. The application process promises to be simple and quick, with funding available by late August.

Catalyst’s aims to support local nonprofits that are adapting during this new phase of the pandemic crisis, aiming for greater effectiveness and efficiency. Rather than fund standard, pre-pandemic operations, the intention is to fund “the extra” required to adjust during this pandemic period and beyond.

The application deadline is noon August 9. All submissions must be online via email. Application details can be found at the fund’s website:
