Broadway rebound: the return of Transcendence Theatre

Posted on August 20, 2021 by Sonoma Valley Sun

FINAL WEEKEND — Broadway is once again Under The Stars as the Transcendence Theatre Company returns to Jack London Park for its first live production in nearly two years.

The company celebrates the 10th anniversary season of Broadway Under The Stars with an all-new concert, ROAD TRIP!, August 6-29.

Under the musical direction of veteran Susan Draus, and directed and choreographed by Transcendence alum, Jessica Lee Coffman, ROAD TRIP! promises a wild musical tour of the greater United States.

The themed show covers a lot of musical territory, from patriotic to pop, jazz to musical theater, funk to Disney, and much more. The hit list includes tunes such as Born in the U.S.A., California Dreamin’, Viva Las Vegas, Route 66, Georgia, New York State of Mind, and many more.

ROAD TRIP! will be the first show back in the company’s home theater at Jack London State Historic Park after COVID-19 forced the cancellation  of last year’s entire season.

“We wanted to create a show that reminded us of all the good in our country,” said Draus, who leads a troupe of talented singers and dancers with solid Broadway and touring-company experience. “It has been a rough year and now it’s time to celebrate our great nation and each other.”

Ticket prices are $49 general admission (reserved seating), and $129 for VIP (includes VIP Parking, Pre-Show VIP Private Area, 2 Drink Tickets and VIP Seating).

For more information visit www.bestnightever.org or call the box office at 877-424-1414.

Seating capacity has been expanded to 500 patrons per performance. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site (No Outside Alcohol Permitted).

August 6 through the 29, Friday through Sunday. Shows starts at 7:30 pm, pre-show picnic event begins at 5 pm. Jack London State Historic Park, 2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen.
