Glen Ellen Fair: Small town, big heart

With the theme ‘The Good Ol’ Days,’ the 30th edition of the Glen Ellen Village Fair will take to the street on Sunday, October 10, noon to 5 p.m. The event, including a brief but festive parade, will be staged on Arnold Drive, which will be closed to car traffic between London Ranch  and Warm Springs Roads.

The live music stage features sets by T Luke and the Tight Suits (above), The Tudo Bem Band, and The Poyntless Sistars. A second stage will host local youth musicians throughout the day.

The fair boasts more than 40 vendors (food, drink, goods, nonprofits and more) including Aunt Betty’s Corndogs, That’s a Wrap Sonoma!, Popo & Grateful Hearts, Handmade by Teresa, Java Wagon, Ocean Conservation Institute, Sonoma Ecology Center, Glen Ellen Historical Society, Jessica Jo Designs, Saraba African Art, Glen Ellen Forum, Ponies R Us, KSVY, Jack London State Historic Park, O.R. Sight, Handmade by Teresa, and many others.

Sonoma Valley Community Health Center will be hosting a pop-up vaccination clinic in residence at the fair as well.

The traditional raffle this year is for several wall hangings featuring panels from the popular ‘fan’ quilt of several years back. Tickets will be on sale individually for $2.00 or in bunches of 3-tickets for $5.00, 7-tickets for $10.00, and 15-tickets for $20.00. Proceeds of past raffle ticket sales have benefited the local fire departments, Dunbar School, and the Glen Ellen Historical Society and other local charities. New this year the association is also holding a silent auction.

County Covid protocols will be in effect. Facial masks required eating, or can properly distance from other folks.

Another exciting new wrinkle for this year is that the fair is being run as a zero-waste event. As such, you will notice vendors being mindful of packaging and you will see better disposal options clearly marked throughout the area.

Don’t forget that Arnold Drive will be closed between London Ranch Rd and Warm Springs Rd between 9am and 5pm on Sunday October 10th, to accommodate for set-up, event, and clean-up.
