Mad about the hat!

The Sonoma Community Center hosts a Mad Hatter Tea Party (…and maddest Hat Contest) on Saturday, May. The afternoon begins promptly at 12:27 with tea in the Center’s Secret Garden,

Participants are asked to arrive decked out in any original and outrageously decorated hat, cap, fedora, helmet, bonnet, bowler, chapeau, beret, sombrero – well you name it. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative hats and one person crowned “The Mad Hatter” of the Tea Party.

Guests will sample and enjoy various teas and beverages, small bites and desserts, as well as Frisco Fred the magician, live music, live animals, creative activities, and more surprises at the party where anything goes.

In the tradition of the Sonoma Community Center’s popular Chili Bowl Fundraiser (now scheduled for May 14), every Tea Party attendee will be able to pick out their own souvenir handmade ceramic cup provided by the Center’s Ceramic Department.

“I love being able to provide an immersive experience for all ages to come together and experience something unique,” says Creative Programs Manager Eric Jackson. “And this Tea Party, made for individuals and families alike, is a beautiful example of this.”

Limited tickets are $30 for adults, $10 youth. All event proceeds go towards the continuing support of the Sonoma Community Center’s arts education programming.

For more tickets and info contact 707.938.4626, or the Center’s Main Office at 276 East Napa Street, Sonoma.
