Posted on April 23, 2022 by Sonoma Valley Sun

The Friends of Kaniv and Sonoma Sister Cities Association (SSCA) invite you to a “Dinner for Ukraine” at the Sonoma Community Center on Friday, May 20. The first seating will be at 5:30 p.m. and the second seating will be at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased at https://givebutter.com/DinnerforUkraine. 100% of the proceeds go to support the people of Kaniv through the Kaniv Friendship Association.

The dinner will feature dishes inspired by Ukrainian cuisine, along with Landmark wines.

“Please know that the money our community raises is being put to great use and is very much appreciated, said Anatoly Leontyev, president of the Kaniv Friendship Association. “This money is at the disposal of the mayor, who during the war acts as the head of the military administration of Kaniv. They will be used to finance the needs of territorial defense, the purchase of medicines and assistance to refugees who arrive in Kaniv from areas where hostilities are currently taking place.

“On behalf of the Kaniv Friendship Association, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you and the members of your Association for your very important work and solidarity with Ukraine.”

The event is sponsored by Rotary Club of Sonoma, Landmark Vineyards, and the Sonoma Community Center.

SSCA is a registered 501 (3) (c) and donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
