Posted on May 14, 2022 by Sonoma Valley Sun

After a two-year hiatus, Call of the Valley, a popular feature length documentary on Sonoma Valley’s history, will once again screen at the Sebastiani Theater on Saturday, May 21 at 2 p.m.

The 60-minute doc, from filmmaker Julie Morrison, traces Sonoma Valley’s evolution through the ages from the arrival in Sonoma of Native Americans over 12,000 years ago through the birth of the modern wine industry.

Local historians are featured in the film: Breck Parkman, Arthur Dawson, filmmaker Julie Morrison, and Peter Meyerhof.

Local historians and longtime residents share tales of cultural clashes, political maneuverings and the rise and fall of Sonoma’s fortunes against the backdrop of rare historic images and stunning wine country cinematography.

Tickets are available at sebastianitheatre.com, or at the box office. For more information visit www.callofthevalley.net.
