Poets and other strangers

The Sonoma Writers Workshop reunites for the in-person literary event “Strangers I have Known.” The June 3 gathering will include writers Carol Allison, AJ Petersen, Jonah Raskin, Lisa Summers, and Stacey Tuel, along with special guests and drop-ins. Coffee House-style musical accompaniment will be provided by Steve Della Maggiora on accordion and Steve Shane on upright bass.
The self-described “veterans of verse” have presented semi-annual themed readings of poetry and prose since 2013. “Strangers I Have Known” will offer musings on intimacy with the strange and/or unknowable, in all the ways that might manifest.
Coffee House-style musical accompaniment, and readings from Steven Meloan’s recently published story collection, St. James Infirmary.
Admission is free, with light snacks and tasty desserts courtesy of the writers themselves. Wine will be available for purchase by the glass from Bump Wine Cellars. Doors open at 6:30, and the festivities begin at 7pm with limited signups for open mic slots. Bump Wine Cellars is located just off Sonoma Plaza at 521 Broadway
