With the passage of Measure H, the Sonoma Valley Unified School District is required to form a Citizens’ Oversight Committee and is seeking interested community volunteers to participate.

The Oversight Committee will be comprised of at least seven members representing the following community organizations:

A member active in a business organization representing the business community located within the district
A member active in a senior citizen’s organization
A member active in a bona fide taxpayers’ organization
A member who is the parent or guardian of a child enrolled in a district school
A member who is either a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district and active in a parent-teacher organization such as the Parent Teacher Association or School Site Council.

The Committee’s legal charge is to inform the public about the expenditure of bond proceeds and members will be asked to serve a two-year term.

Citizens’ Oversight Committee application forms are available in English and Spanish on the home page of the district’s website at svusdca.org.

Forms are due back to the district office on Jan. 28, 2011. Call 935.4249 with questions.
