The delegates return

Back from Boys and Girls State, the prestigious American Legion leadership conference in Sacramento, are 2014 delegates: (top left) Curtis Presten, Elizabeth Eagles, Adam Curry, (bottom left) Rodrigo Rico and Rick Taggesell. The Sonoma Valley teenagers were sponsored by American Legion Jack London Post #489, Native Sons of the Golden West Parlor #111 and the Native Daughters of the Golden West Parlor #209.
The annual summer program teaches how government works while fostering leadership skills. Participants run for office, learn public speaking, create and enforce laws and actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government. Making new friends from across the state is also part of the experience.
