IMG_6324With the Trashion Fashion show just around the corner, Sonoma Market celebrates its sponsorship of the annual event with an in-store display of a gown created by Margaret Hatcher, resident artist at the Sonoma Community Center.  In keeping with the theme of using recycled materials, the gown is made completely from discarded price stickers from the market.

At the event itself, Sonoma Market General Manager Al Minero will walk the catwalk in a suit custom made for him from items that plucked from the market’s recycling bin.

The 5th Annual Sonoma Community Center Trashion Fashion Show will be held Saturday, April 18 at the Veterans Memorial Building.  Deadline for designers to apply is Saturday February 28 at 5:00. For information: sonomacommunitycenter.org

Recycling is in fashion every day at the Sonoma and Glen Ellen Village Markets, Minero said, where you shoppers will receive one raffle ticket for each reusable bag brought to the market.  A $100 Sonoma Market gift card to be used at either market is awarded every single day, he said, “so don’t forget to bring your bags and check your tickets each week!IMG_6310
