Your ideas for Maxwell Farms Park?

Posted on April 3, 2015 by Sonoma Valley Sun

MaxwellFarmsSonoma County Regional Parks holds its second introductory planning workshop on future renovations and improvements at Maxwell Farms Regional Park on April 10. Community members who did not attend a January workshop are invited to join this April 10 session. Park planners will explain the project and welcome residents’ recommendations for new amenities and programs at the popular park.

Regional Parks is updating the park’s master plan as a guide for future improvements, which will be undertaken as funding becomes available. The 80-acre park now includes soccer and baseball fields, a playground, a skate park, picnic areas, tennis and volleyball courts, and 2.5 miles of nature trails.  The park’s original master plan was created in 1986 and amended in the mid-1990’s to add some of these amenities as well as the Valley of the Moon Boys and Girls Club.

The April 10th workshop is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at El Verano School, 18606 Riverside Drive, in room 31.  Spanish translation and child care will be available. Community members can also give input online surveys in English and Spanish at the Maxwell Farms webpage at sonomacountyparks.org through April 17.
