From now until May 7, Murphy’s Irish Pub is donating 50% of proceeds from a special prix fixe menu to 4Paws Learning & Wellness Center. 4Paws is a is a Sonoma County based non-profit that aims to “make life better for pets and people through education and service.”

Founded in 2010, 4Paws continues the work of animal advocate Chris Williams, who sought to bring animals and humans closer together through education and emotional bonding. The organization serves the entire North Bay region and locally brings certified therapy dogs to El Verano School, the Sonoma Developmental Center, Sonoma Valley Hospital, and assisted-living centers. At El Verano, 4Paws helps struggling readers develop the skills through their Readers of the Pack program, in which children read aloud to dogs, which helps build young readers’ confidence.

In health centers and hospitals, 4Paws provides social therapy with their dogs. Through cuddles, kisses, and wagging tails, dogs help patients through the healing process by creating a calming and loving environment and experience.

The prix fixe at Murphy’s is $25 and comprises a farmers market salad; roasted chicken with mushroom bread pudding, Blue Lake beans, hazelnuts and salsa verde; and bittersweet chocolate pudding with salted caramel and whipped cream.
