Dear Editor, I would like to express yet again appreciation to the citizens of Sonoma for a service I received at the Sonoma Valley Hospital and its Emergency Room. On May 31st I visited it for the fifth time in two–and-one-half years. Each visit was for a different reason; three were non-life threatening, two were.
I received care during each visit that allowed me to regain my health to an optimal level. I can’t say how important this is. It’s hard to be the one on a stretcher or the one to walk through the sliding glass doors and need care. That there is a place you can go and either be treated or moved to another facility that can treat you is a gift.
Sonoma engaged in the difficult issue of what to do about the hospital a few years back, and due to many people’s generosity (visible on a plaque in the ER waiting room) we continue to have healthcare in a small city that serves it’s people well.
Thank you Sonoma, and to all of you that made this service available to me. In sincerest of appreciation,
Kim D. Bartlett
