New summer food/wine pairing offered at Mayo

Mayo Family Winery has introduced their new summer food and wine pairing as designed and prepared by Executive Chef Sam Frumkin.

Frumkin pulls inspiration from his family heritage to create a worldly menu including seven wines paired with seven dishes:

  1. 2013 Reserve Chardonnay, Laurel Hill Vineyard, Sonoma Valley paired with Chicken & Sweet Summer Corn Chowder
  2. 2013 Grenache Blanc, Saralee’s Vineyard, Russian River Valley paired with Cucumber & Compressed Melon Salad
  3. 2013 Reserve Pinot Noir, La Cruz Vineyard, Sonoma Valley paired with Grilled Salmon & Fennel, Kale Braisage
  4. 2012 Reserve Zinfandel, Ricci Vineyard, Russian River Valley paired with Pork Tenderloin & Cherry Reduction Sauce
  5. 2013 Reserve Meritage, Los Chamizal Vineyard, Napa Valley paired with Vegetable Moussaka
  6. 2012 Reserve Petite Sirah, Rossi Ranch, Sonoma Valley paired with Moroccan Braised Lamb
  7. 2013 Late Harvest Gewurztraminer, Kunde Ranch Vineyard paired with Apricot Cobbler
The new food and wine pairing is by appointment and is $40 for the general public and $25 for wine club members. Tastings are offered Thursday-Monday, 10:30AM-6:30PM. mayofamilywinery.com
