A collaborative connection for high school parents

Posted on August 27, 2018 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Attention new Sonoma Valley High School parents: did you know there is a group for SVHS parents to help them navigate the high school? Founded by parents two years ago, SVHS Parent Connection (Parent Connect for short) strives to provide up-to-date information, share resources and experiences, and facilitate communication with the school.

It also provides opportunities for social connections between parents through a Facebook page, periodic get-togethers, and forums on timely topics. The group is independent, with no formal ties to the Sonoma Valley Unified School District. There are presently over 300 members.

Whether you are wondering about how to do a schedule change (it has to be done in the first two weeks of school), what the A through G course requirements are, or whom to contact about a specific issue, the group will connect you with experienced parents who can offer guidance.

You can find useful information, join the group, and sign up to receive periodic invitations and emails about school and district news, at the group’s web site: https://svhsparentconnection.com. It is free to join, but donations to cover expenses are appreciated. Questions? Email [email protected]
