If you’re planning to drive across either of the two bridges spanning Sonoma’s Nathanson Creek anytime soon, be sure to keep your cell phone and a utility knife handy, And leave the driver’s side window rolled down. In the aftermath of last week’s tragic bridge collapse in Minneapolis, all of Sonoma County’s bridges have been brought under scrutiny. The survey found that the Chase Street Bridge and the Second Street Bridge were among only six federally rated bridges in the county that have received a “sufficiency rating” of less than 50 percent. A rating of 50 percent or less indicates the bridge may need to be replaced.
