Multiple calls for Diamond A blaze

A garage fire in the hills west of Sonoma was brought under control within a half-hour this afternoon.

Three engine crews, an ambulance and a division chief from the Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue Authority responded around 1 p.m. to the 19000 block of Kenleigh Drive off Grove Street after a number of people called 911 to report smoke coming from a garage.

On arrival, the division chief summoned two more engines to the scene. A Cal Fire spotting plane circled overhead, and firefighters searched for anyone trapped inside the home before emerging at 1:15 p.m. to report “all clear.”

The fire was declared under control at 1:25 p.m. No injury report or damage estimate was available at press time.
