Green Bay Packers tackle Tony Moll, a 2001 graduate of Sonoma Valley High School and a graduate of University of Nevada-Reno in 2006, will be in the Bay Area this weekend for the only time this season as his Packers will take on the San Francisco 49ers.

The game is Saturday at 6 p.m. at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, and Moll, a 3rd year offensive lineman with Green Bay, will have the opportunity to play in front of some of his close friends and family for the third straight season.

The 49ers are 0-1 after losing to the Oakland Raiders last week in the annual “Battle of the Bay” exhibition game, 18-6. The Packers are also 0-1 after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals last week, 20-17.

Moll, at 6’5″ and 300 lbs. was a fifth round pick by the Packers in 2006 and rotated in at guard and tackle on the offensive line over the last two seasons, with his 2007 season seeing time on the sidelines with a neck injury.

Moll upped his workout regimen in the off-season and is planning to make a good impression on the Packers this year to get more playing time, upping his quickness and core strength.

Of course, the big story in Green Bay in recent times were the events that led to the trading of legendary quarterback Brett Favre, whom Tony protected his first two season on the Packers offensive line. He will now look to protect fourth year quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who takes over for the future Hall of Famer after Favre was traded to the New York Jets last week for a conditional draft pick.
