Pets Lifeline gets new exec director

Pets Lifeline has named Desiree Stinson, a Sonoma resident, as new Executive Director.
In a prepared statement, Tom Cygnar, Pets Lifeline board president, said Stinson brings a broad range of expertise from marketing, public relations, business management, facilities development, event planning, sponsorships and Web management. She also brings skills in staff development and coaching.
In addition to her business background, Stinson has a long association with animals and animal concerns. She has been an active member of the Humane Society of the United States, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. She has also been committed to environmental issues, implementing green practices in the printing firm in which she was a managing partner. As a volunteer, she has worked in Latin America helping to develop communication networks among indigenous cultures.
About Pets Lifeline, Stinson said on Monday that “the best part of it is it’s such a community organization. You have this real sense of belonging – people wanting to be involved and to take part in something that’s important to them culturally.”  Stinson will take over as executive director sometime this month.
