With Sonoma City Hall’s 100th birthday party now but a memory, city staff will be opening it up for business tomorrow – after they spend today unpacking.
The venerable Sonoma Plaza landmark has been closed since June 30 while undergoing a $395,000 renovation in time for its Sept. 9 centennial last week. The cost included interior and exterior repainting, Americans with Disabilities Act upgrades and various refinishing projects as well as moving staff into – and out of – temporary offices at the old Patten Street firehouse. Affected by the move were the City Manager and City Clerk, as well as Sonoma’s finance and personnel, building, and planning departments.
City Hall is open every weekday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and closed for lunch between noon and 1 p.m.
City Hall to reopen
