On Thursday, December 18, 2008, at approximately 10:40am, officers from the Sonoma Police Department were dispatched to assist the Sonoma Valley Fire Rescue Authority with a medical aid in the 600 block of 2nd Street West in Sonoma. Upon arrival, they located the body of a deceased female, who was in her mid-30s. Due to the condition of the body, coupled with inconsistent statements made by the caller, the cause of death was not readily apparent and, therefore, determined to be suspicious.
Detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department Violent Crimes Unit, along with the Crime Scene Investigations Unit, responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.
The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
