The Sonoma City Council will be looking at a proposed affordable housing development on Highway 12 on Wednesday night. The city received six proposals for the property at 19344 Sonoma Hwy., several of which are available on the city Web site: www.sonomacity.org. The Community Services and Environment Commission is to present a recommendation to ban smoking in city parks, and Mayor Ken Brown will present three proclamations, for Abraham Lincoln Month, National Mentoring Month and Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

SV Hospital Board of Directors

The Sonoma Valley Health Care District Board of Directors will be interviewing and selecting members of the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee on Wednesday night. On Nov. 4, voters approved a hospital bond worth up to $35 million. The measure requires that the district establish a Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee to ensure that bond funds are expended in a fiscally responsible manner and only for the purposes described in the bond measure.

The meeting scheduled for Jan. 20 will be deferred until Feb. 10.

Concilio Latino

The Concilio Latino is a monthly meeting that gives people who work with the Latino community in Sonoma a chance to talk about ways to improve and strengthen services to this population, advocate for more bilingual and bicultural staff and promote sensitivity to Latino family dynamics and cultural differences.
