The Sonoma Valley Education Foundation will hold its first ever “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader” fundraiser on April 25. The lighthearted competition will parody the popular show with 21 local “celebrities” and community leaders – backed up by the brightest fifth-graders in the public school district – vying for a sure-to-be coveted trophy.
Contestants will answer questions from the fifth grade California State Standards in Math, Science, Social Studies and English during three elimination rounds and a final round.
Sonoma Valley Education Foundation invites community members to participate as contestants or by sponsoring a contestant for an entry fee of $250. Event sponsors are also welcomed at the $500 level and will be included in the promotional and event materials regardless of contestant participation.
Following the competition, guests and contestants will enjoy music, food and local wine. For more information on becoming a contestant or a sponsor, contact Fran Meininger, executive director, at fran.svef@gmail.com or by calling 935.9566.
