Soon 17 employees of the Sonoma Valley Unified School District will be taking an extended summer break as they move into a new phase of life – retirement. The group includes 10 members of the teaching staff, two principals and five classified employees.
Among the teachers, Mike Soukop who has taught metal shop and agriculture at the high school for years and is known and loved by most of the student body and staff. Also beloved, Jane Moehrke, who has taught countless numbers of Prestwood kindergartners their ABCs and 123s over the past dozens of years. Doug Bates, music teacher at both Adele Harrison and Altimira middle schools take his leave this year as well.
