Prestwood students take blue ribbon at Harvest Fair

Students in Susan Foshay’s fifth-grade class at Prestwood School earned first place for their school garden at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair held earlier this month. Under the direction of Eileen Pharo, Prestwood’s intervention teacher, the students replicated the garden to scale on a large poster that was displayed at the Harvest Fair.  The fair’s judges visited the school to inspect the garden and were impressed with the garden’s size as well as the variety of fruit trees and herbs. The award came with a blue ribbon and a $50 cash prize, which the students will use to purchase fall vegetables and spring bulbs.
