Finds Plaza poop offensive

Editor: At least once a week I walk around the Plaza with a friend before or after morning coffee. And nearly every time I return home from this walk I have dog poop on the soles of my shoes. I wear walking shoes that have indentations and ridges on the soles, so getting this stuff out of the ridges can be a complicated task as well as an unpleasant assault on the olfactory receptors.

Today, I was being particularly careful and decided not to walk on the grass anywhere in the park. But, that didn’t matter because hidden among the leaves on the sidewalk were clumps of dog poop. Someone neglected to clean up after his or her dog.
Perhaps it’s time to enforce the sign at one entrance to the park that says, “No dogs allowed in the park.” Since there is a dog park just a few blocks from the Plaza, people with dogs can be redirected there.

I assume children playing in the grass on the plaza are likely to get this stuff on their hands and clothes. The Plaza park should be a safe and healthy place for individuals and families to enjoy. In the meantime, I think the Plaza has gone to the dogs.

We need enforcement Georgia I agree with you. Thanks for bringing this to light. My family likes to enjoy the Plaze and its far too crowded and full of children to have dogs parading around. They have Dog Walks they can use and bike/walk paths with their little plastic baggies but young children have no need to be terrorized by dogs. The signs are posted and ordinances passed for reasons. Some people think they are “above the law” but I say, think again!
