Editor: The recent notice about Hoochi-Doo’s revival of “Love Sick” reminded me of my good fortune to have caught the premier of this delightful musical comedy revue last year.
I’m not one who laughs easily at public performances, but this show left me in stitches. Throughout the evening, the audience roared along with the nonstop, rapid-fire, one-line zingers and collection of clever songs reflecting the many modes and moods of romance. The entire cast was top-notch – taking the audience on a hilarious rollercoaster ride from youthful dating and marriage to a very moving (but also very funny) finale in which the characters aged before our very eyes via the most subtle of gestures and timbre of voice.
The show’s return on Feb. 12 and 13 is something not to be missed. I encourage anyone looking for a laugh-out-loud night of musical theater to make sure they see the show this time around. Sonoma is lucky to have entertainment of this caliber in our community.
