Editor’s note: The following letter was sent in response to last week’s letter from Bob Piazza, president of Price Pump Company.
Dear Bob: I am writing in support of your letter featured in the Sun newspaper. I call your attention to one fact you may have overlooked.
Under present usage there exist many growers with permits in the middle of residential neighborhoods surrounded by children. Many of these sell their excess production and visitors at all hours can be observed.
I submit to you as a professional realtor should your home be in their vicinity and you decide to sell this would be a major item for disclosure and most likely either reduce your appeal and/or value or possibly cancel your transaction.
I submit to you if the county can support these growers then they must accept a substantial reduction in the value of the surrounding homes and adjust the tax rolls accordingly.
We regret our decision to establish a home in Sonoma County and if the market had more sustainability we would seek a sale and relocate to Napa County.
If I can support you in any manner, please feel free to call upon me.
Sincerely,
Eugene F. Daly
Sonoma
