An S.O.S. for education

“Save our Schools” was the rally cry as more than 100 people gathered on the Plaza to protest impending school budget cuts. The May 13 event culminated “A Week of Action”
undertaken by the California Teachers Association. The CTA asked educators, students and parents to participate in a series actions, including a sit-in at the State Capitol in Sacramento and regional rallies in order to pressure lawmakers to pass a budget that includes tax extensions to protect schools, colleges and essential public services from further cuts.
