Say What?

Editor: I was somewhat shocked and appalled while reading “Living a housing hairball.” Does the author really equate her self-professed naivety, poor decision-making capabilities, lack of math skills, and giving up her power with the genocide inflicted upon “the Indians, Jews and Blacks”? I’m sorry that she lost her home, but to trivialize the death and enslavement of millions of people to make herself feel better is shocking. Just shocking.

Thank you for stating this! I also wrote protesting Katy Byrne comparing herself to holocaust and genocide victims and I’m grateful to the Sonoma Valley Sun that they printed it. Then she doubled down in her reply to me. She needs to apologize in print! Period. There is no comparison whatsoever. Respect for those who have suffered unspeakably is one of the hallmarks of a civilized, not to mention compassionate society.
