It’s harvest and with harvest comes Fashion in the Vineyards, the Boys & Girls Clubs’ annual runway show and fundraiser. Once again, the event will feature the latest in fashion for men, women and children modeled by some of the Valley’s most catwalk savvy models.

Schindler and her husband, Brian, are long-time supporters of the Boys & Girls Club.

This year, local designer Julie Schindler will be the featured designer for the opening runway show and will preview a beautiful combination from her fall/holiday collection. In true Schindler fashion, this will include sumptuous cashmere, lavish silks and elegant imported wool turned into stylish coats, flirty cocktail dresses and fashionable outfits of velvet, lace, brocade and more.

For those not familiar with Schindler, a little background on her and her approach to fashion. She started her women’s apparel company, Julie Schindler Design, while still a student at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco. Operating on the proverbial “shoestring”, she created patterns, cut fabric and established a network of goods and services.
Today, Schindler has a portfolio filled with scores of well-known clients but, by her own design, she has chosen to focus solely on her private clientele over the course of the past few years. Needless to say, she knows the industry from the ground up.

Supporting the B&GC through Fashion in the Vineyards was a no-brainer. Schindler and her husband Brian Larsen have been big supporters of the Club for years with Schindler donating cashmere coats for the live auction and both husband and wife giving time and other donations throughout the year. Schindler truly believes in the organization saying, “I’m very excited about this opportunity. It is an honor to do Fashion in the Vineyards and help the club in any way I can. I feel really strongly about the Club as it is a great facility that supports the youth and families in Sonoma.”

Fashion in the Vineyards is Friday, October 28. Cocktail reception begins at 5:30 with the fashion show following at 7 p.m. Tickets are $175 and are still available by calling 938.8544 x 118 or by visiting bgcsonoma.org.
