The Magic of Christmas

Kids and adults have treats in store November 27 for Sonoma Valley Hospital Foundation’s 24th annual Magic of Christmas.

The festivities begin with the Christmas Wishes Children’s Party from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Lodge at Sonoma. The holiday tradition offers fun for the whole family, with gingerbread house decorating, a performance by the Keenan Irish Dancers, photos with Santa, live bagpipe music by John Noonan, face painting by Popo the Clown, a magic show by Roger Rhoten, balloon twisting by holiday elf Dyani Bachelder, and much more.

The price of admission is $30 for adults or $50 per couple. Children under 15 are free.

This year, the magic continues with a Magical Moments cocktail party with wine, hors d’oeuvres and dancing from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Gene Russo will lead a dance lesson and there will be special appearances by some of our “Dancing With Our Stars” dancers, including Rhonda Guaraglia and Denny Lane. There will also be a special reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by Butch Engle.

Tickets are $30 each, or $50 per couple.

Proceeds from both events will help Sonoma Valley Hospital purchase a state-of-the-art digital X-ray machine. “Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, the foundation is able to keep ticket prices low, ensuring all members of the community have the opportunity to join in the fun,” said foundation Executive Director Harmony Plenty. “Sponsorships also help underwrite the cost of the event so more of the proceeds can directly benefit the hospital.

Sure to make Santa’s good list, Plenty said, is The Marin•Sonoma IPA, which made a $5,000 sponsorship donation. “We are honored to support our physicians, Sonoma Valley Hospital, and the community of Sonoma by contributing to this wonderful event.” said Joel Criste, CEO.

Both events will be held at The Lodge at Sonoma at 1325 Broadway. For more information contact svh.com/foundationnews or 935.5070.
