The pros of Protandim and the principles of chiropractic

Dear Dr. Forsythe: I wanted to report that within six to seven days of starting my cat Friar Tuck on Protandim, he is doing things he hasn’t ever done in his life.  He is more active, eating better and as put on some weight.  I see him chasing after dust balls again for the first time in several years.  Both my wife and I are amazed.  It is like this supplement has turbo charged him into kittenhood and given us back our cat.  I want to acknowledge your hard work and willingness to look “outside the box” on behalf of our cat in tracking down this amazing medicine and getting it for us.  I’ll go out on a limb and say that I can see first hand that it is possible that miracles do take place.  Please let your readers know about this supplement. To have our Friar back in his youthful form after thinking he was at the end of his life makes us feel other people should come to you and find out about it.  It is important that the word get out about Protandim.  My wife and I are seriously thinking about taking it too because we have some arthritis and I also take blood pressure medicine. – E.S., Sonoma

Dear E.S.: I appreciate your follow up and I’m really delighted that Friar Tuck has begun feeling so much better. I, too, was very worried about him and had tried so many conventional things to regulate his electrolytes and attempt to make him feel better as well as become clinically healthier. Your story is heartwarming and makes me feel truly blessed to know that such a simple and natural botanical can have a truly profound effect on the quality of pet’s lives.  I have had an astousning array of positive feedback from clients who simply can’t believe that their companions are exhibiting signs of improved health and vitality.  It really shows that integrative medicine and the use of one supplement made of five botanicals can have such a profound impact on people and pets and be monumentally important. I have many dog and cat patients taking the supplement now and universally all are reporting improvements in various degrees.  In addition, the scientists doing research on Protandim and people getting the message out about Protandim’s  tremendous health benefits are involved in improving health for people and pets in an enormous way.  The impact is proving to be huge, and when the effects and benefits are known, many of us believe that the magnitude of Protandim’s impact on human and animal health benefits will be similar to the sweeping benefits mankind experienced following the discovery of penicillin last century.

E.S, your feedback and voice is so important to me and my readers.  I am excited and reinvigorated to have discovered the incredible science behind this natural, holistic compound that is already starting to vastly improve the health and lives of pets and their people. For my readers who are interested in knowing more about the science behind this truly remarkable medicine, please check out www.abcliveit.com  for a plethora of information on Protandim.  You will be excited after you delve into this, and I welcome you to write to me or come in and see me at Altimira Veterinary Hospital for more information,  copies of peer reviewed clinical studies, or to share your personal stories with me.  Thanks very much and here is to living longer, healthier, and happier than ever!! – Dr. F

Dear readers: I have been studying Animal Chiropractic at Options for Animals College in Wellsville, Kansas for two weeks.  My mind feels like one of those Zero Turn tractors with one wheel going forward and one going back, changing directions while staying in place. My thoughts about health care and my role in it are making a profound shift. I guess I always knew health is more than merely the absence of disease, and all animals have an inborn ability to heal, but studying the four main principles of chiropractic is taking me to a more in- depth understanding of these concepts.  I am finally moving toward a place where I can help animals heal without the side effects traditional Western medicine always seems to have. I hope these columns will give readers insight into my exciting journey.

Have you ever noticed how animals heal themselves, from a wound, for example?   If you‘ve ever seen a cat with a fractured pelvis you’ll know what I mean.  It helps if the cat has a warm, safe place with food, water and a litter box, but the pelvis heals on its own. The healing process is an innate, inborn force. That is the first Principle of Chiropractic.

The chiropractic models second component states that the nervous system controls and coordinates all other systems. We all learned this in school. But new research in cell biology is helping us to understand the inner workings of nerve cells; where they are located and how they communicate with each other. We understand so much more about how information from all muscles in the body, especially the ones controlling posture and movement, feedback information to organs and other muscles via the spinal cord, housed in the spinal column. This is the third component: When one area of the structural spine does not move well, function of the whole nervous system is affected, usually in a negative way. When one area is not moving well, other areas have to move more to compensate for this lack of movement. This hypermobility often leads to injury.

Chiropractic adjustments optimize the body’s innate ability to heal by helping to restore normal spinal movement. This is the last of the components. Restoring normal spinal movement helps normalize everything else. Once the spine moves correctly, the nerves communicating through the spine can function normally, assisting other parts of the body to function properly. Thus, restoring normal spinal movement helps maintain health.

Can Chiropractic fix every disease? No. Can chiropractic help restore normal functioning of the nervous system so the animal can be as healthy as possible?  Yes. My mind, like the Zero Turn Tractor, has changed, but rather than spinning in place, I am about to move in a different direction; a new direction leading me to a new understanding.  Not of disease, but of health.  – Dr. Abbie
