Connerly to speak

Ward Connerly, a political activist and leading voice in the movement to ban affirmative action, will address the annual meeting of The Sonoma Valley Republican Women Federated on Thursday, May 9. A former University of California Regent, Connerly is founder and president of the American Civil Rights Institute.

The 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. event at Cline Cellars is open to all. Cost of the picnic lunch is $25.

A fundraising auction features passes to the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach in 2014, and a high tea and croquet at a private Valley residence. Proceeds support the club’s philanthropic projects including annual field trip for local students to visit legislators in Sacramento.
