Sonoma’s favorite (and only) steakhouse, Saddles, welcomes Ellen Silverstein as their new Pastry Chef. Silverstein has an impressive resume: she graduated with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from the esteemed Johnson & Wales University (which can claim 12 celebrity chef alumni including the Bay Area’s own Tyler Florence) and went on to become Pastry Commis at Bouchon Bakery. Prior to joining Saddles, she was Assistant Pastry Chef and Pastry Supervisor at Calistoga Ranch.

“She brings a tremendous amount of creativity and talent with her,” says Executive Chef Dana Jaffe. Whether you have the luxury of enjoying breakfast after a night’s stay at MacArthur Place, or you are craving something sweet after the juiciest bone-in ribeye in Wine Country, you’ll be eating one of Silverstein’s desserts, breads, or pastries.

Silverstein’s coming out party as Saddles new Pastry Chef will be at the annual Olive Feast on January 31. She’ll be serving her olive oil and rosemary madeleines with orange gelee, olive oil gelato, olive oil powder, and honeycomb candy. Welcome Pastry Chef Silverstein to Sonoma!
